Gaming in Garforth: The End is Near.

Dear Garforth Gamers and other friends,

Garfort TableTop Gamers was created with the purpose of introducing boardgaming to the good people of Garforth and provide a good environment where people could gather to play boardgames.

In the last 2 years we’ve welcomed many people to the club but few from Garforth itself, which, although more or less expected, is a bit disheartening. To be honest, this club got off the ground and has been going through the sheer good-will of its organisers, but that alone is not sufficient to maintain or grow a club.

If preparing the clubs’ events and running them is been proving to be more complicated that at first expected, then other simple tasks like advertising or creating and maintaining a games library, when all depend on one person, become these huge road-blocks that for some time now we have tried to overcome but without success.

Unfortunately, current financial pressures also contribute to unsustainability issues. Trying to make the club more attractive to prospective new members and still make it economically viable is a problem that would require immense time, work and imagination. At the moment we seem to be lacking in all of those departments.

For all these reasons and some more which are of private domain, this Saturday will be the last GTTG meeting.

We are sorry to have to let go of this dream, but in reality, in order for it to work, it would need many more resources that are simply not available to us.

GTTG would like to thank each and everyone of you who helped make this club a great place to come and play boardgames. We would also like to thank the amazing support given by Beyond Monopoly! York in encouraging and helping set up the club.

We hope you all had fun here and we’ll see you there tomorrow for a last gaming huzzah!.
