Post-Essen-Pre-Xmas

Here we are, right in between two of the biggest times in any gamer’s life: Essen and Xmas. (Xmas because it seems to be the most secular designation for the festivities and associated consumerism craze that goes with them. But I digress…)

Well, there are those who have been to Essen and bought the games, and then there is the unfortunate rest of us with “more pressing commitments”, who await eagerly for a chance of playing the new gaming grails, in what could very well become the last opportunity to try before buying for Xmas.

So, which ones are we going to see at the tables this weekend?

Well, if none of these grabs your interest, don’t worry: There were many others at Essen and besides, the old reliable staple games of GTTG will be there to welcome you once again into the comfort of a well spent afternoon among friends.

See you Saturday from 2 pm!

Halloween Games Day

Trick…

… or Treat?!

On Halloween Games Day at GTTG only Halloween themed games are allowed – Bring yours!

Which are and which aren’t “Halloween themed games? Well, PowerBoats can hardly be considered “Halloween” themed, whereas Witch’s Brew or Ghost Stories for instance are very much Halloween themed.

Basically, anything horror (i.e.  Vampires, Zombies, Werewolves, etc.) will do. For a comprehensive list of Halloween games go here. if you want to know more about Halloween, check Wikipedia’s Halloween page.

Players wearing Halloween costumes or props get a free biscuit!

Trick or Treat you Saturday! Happy Halloween!

Fun & Games

Welcome back!

This Saturday 26th September we gather our playful souls in congregation for another afternoon of gaming activities.

We meet from 2.00 pm at the usual place with the usual free tea and coffee and biscuits, and etc.

There is not much else to say at this time other than extend you the invitation to come along, to bring your family and friends, and have a jolly good time playing some of the greatest games on earth!

… And cue the news:

Gamer of The Year” News

Leader Drops Out

Chris Barnard, the current leader of the prestigious competition, has decided to move to Canada while he was top of the table. According to sources close to him, he had this planned long ago and was not just on a whim that he took the harsh decision of putting an end to his brave effort.

This may be great news for all the competitors that were trailing on Barnard’s blazing performance, since they now have a real chance to go for glory!

GTTG wishes Chris all the success in future competitions he may enter and thanks him for giving us minnows hope to win ours!

New Score Sheets

Picture 1

There will be new score sheets at the tables on Saturday. They are not massively different from the original ones, in fact they are quite similar. But apart the fact that I need to write something to make this post worth reading, I need to mention that they are just slightly different by having a points column added and scoring rules summary at the bottom.

See you all on Saturday!
