Finding us

We meet at the Garforth Community Association – Miners Welfare Hall, in Garforth – Leeds (UK).

The address is: Miners Welfare Hall, 52 Main Street, Garforth, Leeds, LS25.

Garforth is a small town on the easternmost outskirts of Leeds, fairly easy to reach by train (see bottom of page), by bus (services no. 18 and 18A from Leeds), or by car.

The Miners Welfare Hall is located at the top end of Main Street, by the corner with Chapel Lane, opposite the Barclays Bank (there is a car park at the back of Barclays – see the maps below).

By Car

If you’re travelling by car, following the M1 motorway, exit at junction 47, follow the signs to Garforth and turn left at the traffic lights after the Gascoigne and Miners pubs. The GCA Miners Welfare Hall is just a few hundred yards on your left.

Alternatively, if coming from Leeds, follow Selby Rd [A63] and keep going straight on before turning onto Garforth – Lidget Lane / Main St [B6137] – at a set of traffic lights just after the “Total” petrol station. Follow Lidget Lane until it becomes Main St [B6137] and you’ll find the GCA Miners Welfare Hall at the top end of the street, directly opposite a branch of Barclays Bank.

The Miners Hall is easy to find at the top end of Main Street [B6137], however parking on Main Street is prohibited. Please use one of the free car parks – “A” or “B” – off Main Street. The Miners Hall is directly opposite the entrance to car park “B” (look for the Barclays branch).

By Train

Alternatively, should you prefer to travel by train, Garforth has a very convenient Railway Station (A) just a couple of minutes walk from the Miners Welfare Hall (B):
